Our beginning
Coastal Primary Care and Wellness, PLLC is a independent primary care practice established in early 2022. It is located in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. The practice is owned and operated by Meredith Anderson and Amanda Mabe who are both Nurse Practitioners that have been working in the area and have seen first-hand the need for a more traditional type of primary care. Furthermore, the limited availability for patients to have access to primary care in the way that it "used to be" has driven them as clinicians to develop a practice that is more patient-centered in a supportive, caring environment. The shift in healthcare resulting from the COVID pandemic, aging and retiring physicians, general health care changes, the overall increase in health care costs as well as the trending direct practice and concierge model of care, have all contributed to this limited availability.
Access to appropriate primary care services is important in maintaining and improving health. Those who obtain regular primary care receive more preventative services and are more likely to comply with their prescribed treatments, and ultimately have lower rates of illness and premature death. Whether it be preventative, wellness care, clinical health promotion, or managing a multitude of chronic medical conditions, they are here to help you navigate the healthcare world. Meredith and Amanda both have a passion for serving the people of this community.
As we all know, there is a great amount of growth coming to this area because it is such a great place to live, work, raise a family, and retire. By opening this practice, they hope to reach the community by providing better access to primary care so that one can maintain good health and enjoy this beautiful community.
Coastal Primary Care and Wellness plans to provide a "traditional" hands-on, personal approach to patient care while incorporating the modern technological advances of health care in today's world. Our patients will benefit from services we offer such as Telehealth visits, online appointment scheduling as well as a patient portal access to communicate easily with their provider and conveniently access lab results/health records. For those who are not interested in this more modern approach or lack access to internet services, office staff will be available for in-person communication and intake of patient information.
